Selecting   the LATEST 50 button on the search page will display the latest items on the data base and also show how search results are displayed..

By default all fields perform an INSTRING or CONTAINING search. For example if the word GATE is entered in the item description field, item descriptions such as GATE VALVE, GATED FLIP FLOP and SWITCHED NOR GATE INPUT will be found. Input fields are NOT case conscious - so feel free to use upper or lower case characters.

Multiple item orders.
If you would like to order more  than 1 item, just repeat the order process for the items you require. The system will remember all your address and charge card details until you log off. For your protection , order pages are via our Secure Server.

Shipping / Packing charges.
For multiple orders you will be charged ONLY ONCE per consignment, you are NOT charged shipping and packing for each order placed at the same time.

Privacy Policy
Display Electronics maintains a strict policy of customer privacy, your name, address and any other details will never be passed to a third party. We do, as a service, occasionally mail / email special offer items to our customers - if you object to this, please email your objection and your request will be noted.

All prices are shown in GB Pounds and a currency of your choice. Note that unless by special arrangement we always charge for items in GB Pounds Stirling. To select the currency of your choice, just click on the flag icon to the left of the screen and click on the flag or currency you require. The alternate currency prices shown on Distel are updated daily but MUST be treated as indicative only.

Main Category
This field filters the items on the database into one of the many hundreds of categories such as CABLE, FIXINGS, RACKS, SEMICONDUCTORS  etc. The drop down menu box for this field will display and allow you to select the desired Main Category. By default the main category is set to ALL which will search everything.

Sub Category
This field contains the subcategory listings connected with a Main Category. For example if CABLE is selected as the main category and ALL as the subcategory the search will search all SUB CATEGORIES under CABLE. If a subcategory of MULTICORE is selected then only this subcategory will be searched. By default this field is set to ALL. The drop down menu box for this field cannot be opened until a valid Main Category has been entered or selected.

DE PN (Display Electronics Part Number & order code)
A four character code composed of 2 alpha characters followed by 2 numerics such as AK47. This code uniquely identifies all items on the Distel database. Use this code to refer to or order goods via the DISTEL search system or order form.

Generic
Many manufacturers, especially of integrated circuits and semiconductors manufacture identical function circuits but prefix their product numbers with a manufacturers identifying prefix. For example Motorola make an MC14066 IC and PHILIPS make a HEF14066. Both parts perform an identical circuit function but have different part numbers. In general, only enter the numeric section of a partnumber into this this field. ie: enter 7400 not SN7400..

Makers Part Number
If you know the actual part number you are looking for then enter into this field. In general do not use embedded spaces, dashes, hyphens, dots or commas.

Manufacturer
This field searches on the makers name, note many semiconductor entries are stored in manufacturers abbreviated name format such as MOT for Motorola, HIT for Hitachi and NSC for National Semiconductors etc. If in doubt just enter the first two or three letters of the makers name you are looking for.

Item description
This field contains a one line entry giving a brief description of the item, usually it's partnumber and simple text description such as Integrated Circuit or Video Distribution Amplifier etc.

Results
A successful search will result in a formatted list of items (see below) that match your entered search criteria. Special attention should be made to ALWAYS read the DETAILS when present and to understand the Condition indication. Dimensions unless stated are in Metric. Weights are shown in Metric and Imperial.

Items shown as NEW are unused and generally supplied as if from the manufacturer. Note that due to our enormous stocks particularly of semiconductors, relays & connectors, that although NEW the item may well be obsolete and may not have been manufactured for a number of years.

Items shown as SLD PULLS refers mainly to semiconductors. This describes a semi conductor device which has been removed by unsoldering or via our proprietary hot air process. Unsoldered pulls are not common and only stocked as a source of parts that are either extremely scarce or impossible to procure by any other means.

"AS IS"

Items shown as 'AS IS" means not guaranteed, untested, no comebacks, no returns. This does not mean what you are buying is a pile of junk (junk costs us money to handle & store)  It means that this item may be beyond our capabilities to test or we may have so many of them that we just want to clear the item at a 'no time to test price'. Whatever the reason you the buyer must be the judge, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE (The Legal Stuff !)

1. VARIATION
In no circumstances will the Company be bound by any addition to or other variation of these terms whether oral or in writing unless any such addition or variation is agreed in writing by the Company with express reference to these terms.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF ORDERS
(a) It shall be the responsibility of the Purchaser to determine the suitability of the goods for any application.
(b) There is no guarantee as to the goods suitability for any specific purpose even if that purpose is known to the Company. In any dispute that may arise liability of the Company for breach of any warranty or obligation either expressed or implied is limited to the value of the goods supplied in any event.
(c) All recommendations and advice given by the Company or the employees or agents of the Company are given without liability on the part of the Company.
(d) Descriptive pictorial or written material issued or published by the Company from time to time relating to goods offered for sale shall not form part of any contract of sale.
(e) The Company shall not be responsible for any loss or damage caused either directly or indirectly by the goods or by any act or omission in connection therewith.

3. EXECUTION OF ORDERS
All goods offered are subject to prior sale. Execution of orders is contingent upon the availability and the absence of any circumstances beyond the control of the company which hinder or prevent such execution.

4. RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS
(a) Goods properly delivered by us will not be accepted for credit unless we are advised and agree to accept said items for return. Such goods returned as ‘not wanted’ or ‘incorrectly ordered’ will be subject to
a restocking and handling charge.
(b) All orders must be confirmed in writing, confirmation of telephone orders must be endorsed as such. In the event of the order being duplicated through failure to clearly endorse the confirmation, the customer will be liable for the full invoice value of the duplicate shipment. Such duplicate orders will only be accepted for credit by prior arrangement and will be subject to a restocking and handling charge.
(c) Except in special circumstances and by written agreement the Company will not accept the cancellation of orders.
(d) Unless agreed in writing by the Company, all transactions are charged in UK Pounds.

5. DELIVERY DELAYS
Whilst the Company undertakes that every effort will be made to ensure that goods are delivered promptly, no liability will be accepted for delay in dispatch or delivery of goods.

6. RISK IN GOODS
The risk in all goods shall pass to the purchaser on delivery of goods to the purchaser.

7. DAMAGE OR SHORTAGES
Damage or shortage of goods discovered on delivery must be notified to the Company in writing within 24 hours. Any claims for damage or shortage which are not notified within this time shall not be accepted by the Company. Shipments by carrier must be examined for damage in the presence of the carriers agent. Damaged goods must not be accepted or signed for.

8. RETURNED GOODS
Goods will not be accepted for return without the prior agreement and the issue of a Display Electronics Return Authorisation Number - this must be obtained prior to shipping. All goods returned without a Return Authorisation Number will be refused. Returned goods must be carriage pre paid and be accompanied by details giving Returns Authorisation Number, reason for return and the date and number of the Company’s invoice / delivery note on which the goods were originally supplied.

9. PAYMENT OF INVOICES.
All accounts must be paid not later than thirty days from the date of invoice. In the event of default the Company reserves the right to charge interest at three per cent above the current Barclays Bank base rate at monthly intervals on the overdue portion of the account and to suspend or cancel the contract in respect of any undelivered goods or services.

10. RESERVATION OF TITLE.
Notwithstanding delivery and passing of the risk, legal and beneficial ownership of the goods shall remain in the the Company until payment for the goods in full has been received by the Company. Until ownership passes the Purchaser shall hold the goods as bailee for the Company and must keep the goods free from any charge lien or other encumbrance. If the Purchaser purports to sell the goods before payment is made to the Company, the proceeds of the sale shall belong to the Company until full payment for the goods has been made. Where such goods are used, even with loss of identity, the legal ownership to the resultant product shall vest in the Company and any proceeds of sale in respect of goods unused or resultant products shall be received by the Purchaser as agents for the Company and on their account.

11. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION.
The Company shall be entitled to cancel or suspend performance of the contract if the purchaser.
(a) shall fail to make payment due to the Company under contract or on any other account on the due date and or (b) shall have a receiver appointed, go into liquidation or bankruptcy, or cease to trade for whatever reason. Upon any such cancellation the Purchaser shall make available for collection by the Company any goods in the possession of the Purchaser for which payment has not been made.

12. COPYRIGHTS AND PATENTS.
Products offered for sale in this catalogue may be the subject of patents, copyright or other legal protection. The Company accepts no liability for infringement of such rights. All copyrights & trademarks are acknowledged.

13. WARRANTIES.
All items supplied by Display Electronics unless otherwise stated in writing, are guaranteed for a period of 90 days from the date of despatch / collection. Any Item found to be defective through faulty manufacture or workmanship will be replaced or the purchase price refunded (at our discretion).

14. DESCRIPTIONS
(a) Whilst the Company takes all possible care in preparation of information, all diagrams, illustrations, descriptions and dimensions appearing in Company data sheets, books, sales brochures or internet pages are approximate and included for guidance only.
(b) In line with our policy of continuous improvement we reserve the right to make design or product alterations, or to discontinue any item as may be necessary without prior notification.
