SCART Connections & Cables

"SCART" socket refers to an industry standard 20 pin socket found on most
TV's, VCR's and other consumer video equipment. Although initiated in Europe,
the standard is now widely used by many Japanese and North American manufacturers.

It should be noted that apart from the basic audio and video connections, other
signals such as RGB, blanking, & status 16:9, etc may NOT be present / used on
some devices. if in doubt always refer to the product / makers handbook of the device
you are connecting to.

Connection 21 refers to the metal shield around the base of the connector which is normally
connected to ground.

Table 1, below shows a typical TV to VCR connection.

When using with the Display Electronics NICAM video & audio tuner (MY00) or
the TELEBOX the video output from either unit would go to connections
20 & 21 with 21 being video ground. For audio, the right & left channels
connect to connections 2, 6 & 4, with 4 being audio ground
