| Tiny shoebox sized industrial 40 Mhz 386 PC system measuring
only (mm) 266 w X 88 h X 272 d is ideal for dedicated control applications running DOS,
Linux or even Windows ! Inside the steel case of the PR103 is a
universal input (85 to 265 V AC 50 / 60 hz ) 70 Watt switched mode power supply, a 3 slot
ISA passive backplane and a Rocky 318 (PC104) standard, single board computer including
8 MByte NON VOLATILE solid state 'Disk On Chip' *(
QG36 Only). There is a dedicated bay inside the case for mounting
either a 3 1/2 " third height IDE hard drive or a 3 1/2" third height floppy
drive through a rear panel cut out. If both a floppy and a hard drive are required then
it's straightforward to mount a 2.5" hard drive elsewhere in the case on a
simple L bracket. The Rocky 318 (PC104) SBC card consists of a half length ISA card with
the following features: 40MHz ALi 386SX equivalent CPU. 8Mbyte solid state flash RAM based
'Disk On Chip*. 72 pin SIMM slot containing a 16 Mbyte SIMM. Standard AMI
BIOS. Standard battery backed up real time clock. 2 x panel mounted 9 pin D 16550 serial
ports. Multi mode EPP/ECP printer port brought out via flying lead to panel mounted 25 way
D socket. Panel mounted standard mini DIN keyboard connector. Standard floppy
port. Standard IDE port for connecting one or two hard drives up to 528 MByte
capacity. Adjustable watchdog timer for operating reset or NMI. Standard embedded PC/104
bus for expansion socket. The 8 MByte solid state 'disk on a chip' * is a most
useful feature. Since this contains its own BIOS, no special software or drivers are
needed for use. It can be fdisked, formatted & booted as easily as any other hard
drive !! It's even possible to install and run Windows 3.1 !! Since there are no
moving parts, as in a mechanical disk drive, it's completely silent & should
never wear out or crash !! The board's BIOS can be set to not look for a display adaptor
for dedicated applications requiring no display or any ISA bus display adaptor can be
plugged in to the motherboard. The board can be strapped so that it can run on a single
5V supply for use outside the enclosure even outside of a bus socket !. Supplied fully
tested and guaranteed. For data see below. Many other features include: front
panel mounted - filtered cooling fan, recessed reset switch, power and HDD activity LED,
rear panel mounted IEC mains connector, speaker, screw down lid, illuminated rocker mains
switch, high quality construction. etc etc.
